Filter annoying spam!
MAILWASHER PRO and SPAMCOP
Our favorite approach to spam is to use Mailwasher
Pro to look at your mail while it is still on the server then delete/bounce/blacklist
mail as well as report it to SpamCop (if you are already setup with Spamcop).
The best feature is that MailWasher Pro also lets you bounce e-mail back
to the spammers so it looks as though your address is not valid! This
helps to ensure you do not continue to get spam from the same spammers
over and over again.
Visit the Mailwasher Pro website (text linked above) and see all the features
as there's no way to cover them all in this article. Download the free
trial and try it out for 30 days at no cost. You will be hooked most likely
so don't download it if you are not serious about reducing the amount
of spam you receive. Ideally, it's best to start fresh with a new email
address but that's no always possible in business situations and you certainly
can't change email addresses every few months if you are using domain
mail.
The latest version of Mailwasher Pro has an option that adds a column
for reporting to SpamCop. This is a very neat addition and we were actually
the ones that suggested it to the makers of Mailwasher Pro so we were
glad to see it had been added!
Enough reading, go fight those spammers! :o)
